String Quilt Workshop - April 15 - Quilted Ewe - Sign Up!

You don’t need to buy the pattern because I’ll show how to do it. But click here: PATTERN if you want it. It's fast, fun and easy.

Bring an assortment of 160 scraps measuring 3” x 8.” These will go together side-by-side to make long vertical rows (roads).

SIZE OF RECTANGLES: The pattern calls for 3" x 8" rectangles. But if you have 2.5" wide jelly rolls, use those. If you like narrow 1.5" strips, use those. Or use an assortment of widths.

In between these rows, there will be “sidewalks” or rows that look like curly ribbon. Those are made with 5” squares cut from solid white (or another color that you like next to your scraps). Cut 72 white squares 5" x 5." For the sides of the quilt, cut 36 white rectangles 5" x 3." You will need 1.75 yards of white for a twin size. Plus 1/2 yard for binding if desired.

Also, you will need 90 print scraps cut in 3” squares, then cut on the diagonal to make 180 little triangles. They are sewn “by eye.”

We will have fun on the 15th. See you at the Quilted Ewe, bring lunch, 9:00-3:00, $10 members/$20 non-members. Call Donna to sign up 860-489-7158

I’ll be on a trip from April 2-13 and may not have Internet.

The pattern is for a twin size quilt (61" x 82") but you can easily adjust it to any size you like.
